Self shooting a documentary for A+E television

I empower ambitious, purpose-driven clients to captivate global audiences

My unique blend of visionary storytelling, project management, and innovative production models maximizes ROI for streamers, brands, and public figures.

From ideation to delivery, my deep understanding and hands-on approach of every stage of content creation ensures seamless cross-functional collaboration.

Proven ROI: I’ve delivered for public figures like Will Smith and Jelly Roll, streaming services like Hulu, ABC, and YouTube, and brands such as Fitbit, and the U.S. Marines - bringing stories to life with clear messaging and top-tier production values.

Leadership: I’ve led teams of up to 100 and produced entire series solo, always maintaining dedication and creative intelligence.

Global Reach: My projects have spanned continents telling stories that matter to audiences now and resonate with them for years to come.

CORE SKILLS & ACHIEVEMENTS:

Targeted Storytelling: I craft narratives that resonate deeply. For Hulu’s Jelly Roll: Save Me, I expanded Jelly Roll’s profile beyond his core fanbase by emphasizing universal themes of self-worth and hard work. The content exceeded its ROI targets, with subscribers joining Hulu just to watch the doc at five times the anticipated rate.

“Ed's ability to deliver content that exceeds both viewership and production value expectations is rare in the marketplace. Jelly Roll: Save Me notably surpassed expectations for attracting new subscribers to Hulu.” – Mike Kelley, Head of ABC News Studios

Visionary Problem Solving: I transform challenges into opportunities that elevate content. When Will Smith quit the celebrity-driven fitness series Best Shape of My Life, I was brought in to run creative in post-production and reimagine the project. With thousands of hours of raw footage, and a team of ambitious creatives, we reframed the series into an epic six-part documentary. The result: a compelling, unique viewing experience that surpassed the original concept and garnered 26 million views for YouTube Originals.

“I can say without hesitation that Ed is a Vital Creative. Ed has a brilliant ability to think both abstractly and practically. My team was inspired for sure - but we were definitely not prepared to pull off the task at hand. Certainly not prepared without Ed’s help. He saved our project - pulled it out of the fire.” – Lukas Kaiser, SVP, Westbrook Media

Budget Efficiency: I stretch budgets while delivering top-tier content. For The Secret Life of Dancing Dogs (Hulu/ABC), I used a hybrid production model to transform a Eurocentric series into a global epic.

“A triumph in terms of scale and emotional storytelling—showcasing Ed's vision, and innovative approach to production.” – Claire Weinraub, ABC News Studios

Audience Retention: I keep audiences engaged. For Hulu’s Mormon No More, I turned a niche concept into a universally appealing series with a 70% completion rate.

“Ed's work was truly transformative. He took the original concept and expanded it into a deeper, more universal exploration of the issues. Every cut I viewed moved me to tears.” – Beth Hoppe, Cricket Hill Media

Crisis Turnaround: For Mysteries at the Museum (Optomen), I cut production turnaround by 25% and editing time by 20%, saving the show from missing air dates and turning it into a financial pillar.

“Despite the series order doubling, Ed reduced pre-production and edit schedules significantly, which compensated for prior series overruns. His exceptional ability to design production models maximized efficiency without sacrificing production value.” – Maria Silver, Former President, Optomen Productions USA

Leadership: I inspire teams to exceed expectations and push beyond their skillsets. My leadership consistently elevates production values and fosters a culture of collaboration and creativity. For Discovery’s Gold Rush I took on a team of untested miners and producers with little experience in the series, yet managed to deliver material that integrated seamlessly into the show and became some of the season's most compelling moments.

“Ed's leadership and quick understanding of the format ensured the team succeeded under difficult circumstances. His work highlights his skill in analyzing and replicating key elements of a series while guiding a new team to perform at their best.” - Carter Smith, Executive Producer, Raw TV.

“Ed’s leadership not only exceeds client expectations but also drives long-term growth for production companies” - Dominic Stobart, VP Creative Service, Benchmark
